I didn't get an alert
Open the app and go to Settings, then Alerts health. Every line should be green. The usual causes are location set to “While Using” instead of “Always”, Background App Refresh off, notifications off, or Low Power Mode on. If you missed a charge, add it with Add a crossing and the app will remind you to pay.
Cars and vans
Look up your number plate and the app works out whether it's a car or a van. Vans up to 3.5 tonnes also pay in Bath, Bradford, Sheffield and Newcastle, where cars don't, and pay more at Dartford and the Silvertown and Blackwall tunnels. If it gets it wrong, change it in Settings, then Your car.
Oxford traffic filters
Six cameras in Oxford fine cars without a permit at set times. The app warns you on the way to one while it's on, so you can turn off. If you have a permit, turn on “Oxford traffic filter permit” in Settings and the warnings stop. Vans aren't affected.
Is the alert the final word?
No. The app tells you what is likely due and when, using each scheme's published rules. The official site you pay on is always the final word on whether you owe a charge and how much.
Does the app pay for me?
No. “Pay now” opens the scheme's official payment page. Tap “I've paid” afterwards and the reminders stop. If you use the official Auto Pay or an account, turn it on in Settings and the app won't remind you for that scheme.
Subscriptions
Your first 3 alerts are free. After that it's £1.99 a month or £14.99 a year. Manage or cancel in your iPhone's Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions. To move a subscription to a new phone, use Restore purchases in the app.
Privacy
Your location never leaves your phone. Read the privacy policy.
